The oil
Puhdas+ Black cumin oil is a very nutrient-rich and high-quality oil. It can be used internally as a food supplement, as cooking oil, or as a spice.
Taste and handling
On the palate, the oil is sophisticatedly mild, but slightly peppery and bitter. Do not heat the oil, as heat destroys the oil’s sensitive fatty acids.
Black cumin plant
Black cumin, or Nigella, is a flowering spice plant whose aromatic black seeds are full of valuable oil. Black cumin contains as many as 100 bioactive compounds. Black cumin seed oil contains, among other things, linoleic acid (omega-6) and a special essential oil called thymoquinone. The seeds also contain, for example, myristic, palmitic, palmitoleic, stearic and oleic acids, B-group vitamins, calcium, iron, copper, zinc, and phosphorus.
