Versatile coconut oil
Cold-pressed virgin coconut oil is one of our best-known and most versatile products, and it has established its place in Finnish cooking and baking. Unlike delicate vegetable oils, coconut oil does not release harmful chemicals at high temperatures, and heating does not alter the oil’s chemical composition. Coconut oil is especially popular in vegan baking and cooking, and it is also easy to use in beauty care. Coconut oil truly has countless uses! It is an excellent alternative to hard animal-based fats and also works as such as an ingredient in sauces, doughs and casseroles, for example.

Origin and production
Foodin virgin coconut oil is made from the fresh white flesh of the coconut. The coconuts are harvested, peeled and washed, after which they are processed within two hours of harvesting. The oil is pressed slowly and at a low temperature. The coconut we use comes from Asia, where coconut palms grow among other vegetation. Harvesting is carried out by local farmers and their workers, who either climb the coconut palms or use long harvesting tools. No monkeys are used in harvesting the coconuts used in our coconut products. The different parts of the coconut are utilised as fully as possible, apart from the husk.
How to use
Virgin coconut oil is suitable for all kinds of cooking and baking! Use it for frying vegetables, in sauces and casseroles, or add it to doughs and other baked goods. Coconut oil also works wonderfully for making homemade raw chocolate and other coconut treats. A small amount can also be stirred into hot drinks such as coffee or cocoa. Beyond the kitchen, coconut oil is also used in skin and hair care, for example as a massage oil or on the ends of the hair.
Good to know
At temperatures above 25 degrees, coconut oil melts into a liquid, but this does not affect the usability or quality of the product.
