Toasty caramel sweetener

The toasty, caramel-like flavour of organic coconut sugar comes from the nectar of coconut palm blossoms. It works naturally in baking and desserts, but it just as happily finishes off a bowl of porridge or a cup of a warm drink. Use coconut sugar just like regular sugar, or whenever you want to give a familiar recipe a toasty, coconutty nuance!

Why choose it

Made from the nectar of coconut palm blossoms: despite its name, coconut sugar is not made from the coconut itself, but from the nectar collected from coconut palm blossoms. Toasty sweet, caramel-like flavour: aromatic coconut sugar adds flavour to baked goods, desserts and drinks. Versatile sweetener: an excellent alternative way to sweeten instead of white sugar. Organic quality and forest-grown: made from the blossoms of organic, forest-grown coconut palms. Handcrafted: the coconut nectar is collected from the blossoms and boiled down into coconut sugar. Easy to swap into familiar recipes: try coconut sugar in recipes where you would normally use white sugar.

Origin and production

Coconut sugar starts out as nectar from the blossoms of the coconut palm. The nectar is collected and boiled down until it forms crystalline coconut sugar. The coconut we use comes from Asia, where coconut palms grow among other vegetation. Harvesting is handled by local farmers and their workers, who either climb the coconut palms or use long harvesting tools. No monkeys are used in harvesting the coconuts used in our coconut products. Apart from the husk, the different parts of the coconut are utilised as fully as possible.

How to use

With coconut sugar you get more than just sweetness in cooking and baking. Its toasty caramel flavour suits baking and desserts just as regular sugar does, while at the same time bringing a hint of exotic flavour to recipes. Sprinkle it over porridge, yoghurt or pancakes, sweeten your coffee with it or try it in raw chocolate. Coconut sugar is an especially good match with chocolate, coffee and warming spices!
