Nettle Powder
Nettle is perhaps the best known delicacy among wild greens. Foodin’s nettle leaf powder, i.e. nettle powder, is made by freeze-drying wild-grown nettles.
In the Kitchen
Use nettle powder in all kinds of cooking, for example in pancake and bread doughs, soups, stews, omelettes, sauces, salads, pesto-style pastes and spreads, as well as risottos and pies. You can also stir the fine powder into smoothies, green drinks and tea. Nettle also works excellently in place of spinach, for instance in pancakes.
Taste and Tips
For some, the taste of green powders may seem strong at first. Especially if you use green powders in green drinks or smoothies, the bitter taste is easy to soften with something sour and citrusy, such as lemon juice. We also recommend combining green powders with good oils, such as quality olive oil. Fat also masks the bitter taste of green powder and improves the absorption of fat-soluble compounds.
