Vitatabs® D-Caps 50 µg vitamin D3 capsules. Food supplement. A well-absorbed vitamin D3 preparation in cold-pressed olive oil. Contains 50 µg of vitamin D. A small, easy-to-swallow softgel capsule. Lactose-free, yeast-free, unsweetened and gluten-free.

Vitamin D intake

Vitamin D is formed in the skin through the action of sunlight. Dietary sources of vitamin D include oily fish, fish oil, eggs, mushrooms and fortified foods such as milk and margarine. Getting enough vitamin D can be challenging especially during the winter months and when following a vegan diet. The recommended intake of vitamin D is 7.5 micrograms/day for those aged 2–17, 10 micrograms/day for those aged 18–74 and 20 micrograms/day for those over 75. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers are recommended to take a vitamin D supplement of 10 micrograms/day all year round.
