Our raw chocolate bars are made by hand at our factory in Vaajakoski, from carefully selected natural ingredients and without traditional white sugar. A short ingredient list guarantees that your moments of indulgence are full of genuine natural flavours with no additives. We preserve the good qualities of the cocoa beans by making our raw chocolate at a low temperature. That way you taste real cocoa straight from the shade of the Amazon rainforest!

Foodin’s raw chocolate is made from unroasted cocoa beans, and the production process also differs from the conventional one. The taste of raw chocolate is more intense and more genuine compared to traditional, sweeter chocolate. Foodin’s raw chocolates are made without white sugar and sweetened with responsibly produced Indonesian coconut sugar.

Foodin’s raw chocolates are the result of years of passion and responsible development. Our founder Lasse Jalkanen is a great friend of chocolate, and raw chocolate holds a special place in Foodin’s story and selection. We believe that treats belong to everyday life, which is why we want to make our raw chocolate accordingly — to be enjoyed at every moment.

How It’s Made

At the heart of our chocolates are cocoa beans of the native Criollo variety, grown by hundreds of families in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. Foodin’s raw chocolate bars are made by hand in Finland, in Vaajakoski. The gentle process preserves the valuable nutrients and gives the chocolate its velvety texture. Once the chocolate mass is ready, our chocolate masters carefully assess its flavour and texture. The chocolate mass must be consistent in quality, velvety smooth and full-bodied in its flavour profile. The mass is then tempered so that it gains a beautiful shine and a melt-in-the-mouth feel. Finally, the chocolate is poured into Foodin’s moulds, levelled and cooled.
