What Chlorella Is

Chlorella is not a seaweed but a single-celled freshwater alga. Unlike seaweed, it therefore does not contain significant amounts of iodine. The name chlorella comes from its high content of chlorophyll. Chlorella contains more chlorophyll per gram than any other plant on our planet.

Origin and Quality

Foodin’s Korean Chlorella powder is very high-quality chlorella of the vulgaris variety, cultivated in carefully controlled growing tanks in South Korea. Foodin’s Chlorella tablets are also made by pressing this same chlorella powder.

Use

Enjoy chlorella powder mixed into water, in a smoothie or with any other liquid. The taste of greens and microalgae may at first seem particularly strong. We warmly recommend citrus fruits, such as lemon juice, to soften the flavour. An acidic element balances bitter green flavours wonderfully. Always combine green powders and tablets with good oils and/or fats as well, such as quality olive oil. Fat also masks the taste and improves the absorption of fat-soluble compounds.
