Sources of Astaxanthin

Astaxanthin is a reddish carotenoid found in salmon, lobster and algae, among others. Fruits and vegetables are also good sources of carotenoids in general. Solgar Astaxanthin 5 mg contains astaxanthin derived from the algae species Haematococcus Pluvialis, a powerful carotenoid. Microalgae produce astaxanthin to protect themselves from the sun’s UV rays.
