Who It’s For

Saaren Taika Bladderwrack Face Soap is formulated for the daily cleansing of blemish-prone, dry, red and easily reactive facial skin, without the drying, tight feeling typical of ordinary soaps.

Minimally Processed Ingredients

What sets it apart from ordinary face soaps is how the ingredients are processed and what that processing removes from them. Saaren Taika Bladderwrack Face Soap is made from exceptionally high-quality, minimally processed ingredients, such as organic Cretan extra virgin olive oil and other high-quality, nourishing oils.

Bladderwrack Soap

When the active ingredients for the series’ serums and creams are extracted from bladderwrack, a nutrient-rich algae powder is left over, and we decided to make full use of it. This is how Bladderwrack Face Soap and Bladderwrack Salt Soap came to be: two eco-friendly innovations that pamper your skin and respect nature.

In-House Development

At the heart of the Saaren Taika Bladderwrack series are the Fucus DuoActive® and Fucus Fusion® active ingredients, created through our own product development. They have been developed to harness the diverse compounds of Bothnian Sea bladderwrack in skincare in a precise and scientifically grounded way. Bladderwrack Face Soap and Bladderwrack Salt Soap make use of valuable, mineral-rich bladderwrack powder that remains after the other parts of the bladderwrack have been used. Instead of letting a usable raw material go to waste, it takes on a new role in the cleansing and skin-caring formulas of our soaps.

Harvesting Bladderwrack

In our Bladderwrack products, we use only bladderwrack that has been torn loose by storms. We gather it ourselves by hand from a small sea area of approx. 10 square metres in the Bothnian Sea (Pyhämaa – Vakka-Suomi, Uusikaupunki), where it grows naturally in abundance and washes loose after storms. The Bothnian Sea has the cleanest waters in Finland. We collect only a portion of the fresh bladderwrack loosened by storms. Most of it stays in the sea and on the shores to support nature’s cycle and the diversity of marine life. We never collect from the banks of seaweed piled up on the shore, as they play their own important role in the ecosystem.

Handmade in Small Batches

Saaren Taika Bladderwrack Face Soap is handmade in small batches in Finland using our own formula, developed specifically for blemish-prone, dry and easily reactive skin. Saaren Taika develops and manufactures many of its products at its own cosmetics factory in Perniö, and the Bladderwrack soaps are part of this in-house product development and zero-waste approach, in which valuable natural raw materials are used as thoroughly and responsibly as possible.
