Matcha is a bright green (almost neon green) tea made by grinding the leaves of a shade-grown tea plant into a fine powder.

Difference from green tea

Whereas with ordinary green tea you drink only the infusion in which the tea leaves have steeped, matcha tea contains the entire tea leaf.
