Concentrated extract

The Maca capsules in Natura Media’s Luonnosta product range contain 300 mg of standardised yellow maca extract in a single plant-based capsule. The extract is concentrated tenfold: 10 kilos of dried maca root are used to make one kilo of powder. One 300 mg capsule therefore corresponds to 3 g of dried maca root. In addition, the maca extract in the capsules is standardised to contain 1.8 mg of macamides and macaenes in every capsule.

Who it’s for

Yellow maca root is suitable for all adults. Natura Media’s Maca is made at our own production facility in Raisio, Finland. It is a vegan product that contains no gluten, milk, soy, nuts or egg.

Grown in Peru

The maca is grown in the Lake Junín region of Peru at an altitude of 4 km. Every grower holds a licence from Peru’s Ministry of the Environment. The roots are harvested by hand, and no fertilisers or pesticides of any kind are used in their cultivation. After harvesting, the leaves of the plants are left on the ground to improve the soil and to feed animals.

Responsibility and supply chain

The growers are paid more fairly than the usual market price, and the community is also supported in many ways, for example by maintaining schools and dental services. The maca roots are processed into extract by our partner, which has production facilities in the USA and France. Finally, the product is made into capsules in Finland, at Natura Media’s own production facility in Raisio.
