Peat Extract
All Detria Relaxant® cream bases contain over 30% peat extract. Peat extract is enriched with compounds from various plants, whose chemical composition has been extensively studied. According to various studies and current knowledge, peat contains nearly 200 different substances.
Peat extract is a rich source of minerals: it contains manganese, vanadium, barium, chromium, phosphorus, calcium, copper, silicon, zinc, magnesium, and selenium.
A third of peat consists of hemicellulose, a fiber-type substance with absorbent properties that also influences the body’s cleansing process.
Humic substances (60%) are the highly active part of peat, affecting metabolism in diverse ways. Humic substances contain organic acids, divided into two groups: fulvic and humic acids. Fulvic acids are essential components for living cells and are involved in all life processes, acting as their catalyst, or accelerator.
Peat also contains other important compounds that affect metabolism, such as vitamins and hormones, as well as substances with antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effects.
