Super Menopause is suitable for use already during premenopause, i.e. the years leading up to menopause.

Oestrogen and menopause

Oestrogen is a natural hormone of the body that is important for health and wellbeing. During menopause, the secretion of oestrogen by a woman’s ovaries decreases. Changing hormone levels can cause mood changes, irritability, loss of sexual desire, bouts of sweating, hot flushes, difficulty sleeping and fatigue. Most women of menopausal age (up to 80%) experience night sweats or hot flushes, and about 20% find this extremely disruptive.

When menopause begins

The average age at which menopause begins is 51, but the range is as wide as 40 to 60 years. The premenopausal transition is considered to begin when the menstrual cycle becomes irregular. This happens on average 5–10 years before menopause, which means that sensations related to changing hormone levels may start as early as after the age of 40.
