Fermentable carbohydrates
Many fibre-rich foods contain carbohydrates that ferment actively in the gut. Fermentation means that gut bacteria use certain types of carbohydrates as their food and produce large amounts of intestinal gas. Sunwic Dietary Fibre is made from guar beans. Even so, the product should not be equated with ordinary beans, nor even with fibre products. It does not contain significant amounts of fermentable carbohydrates.
PHGG fibre and certification
Rikas Sunwic Dietary Fibre is a clinically studied soluble fibre modified from guar beans (PHGG). It is very low in energy, yet important nourishment for the bacteria in our gut. The PHGG fibre powder has been granted Low FODMAP certification by Monash University in Australia.
Research
The composition, safety and effects of the PHGG fibre contained in Sunwic have been examined in several scientific studies, the results of which have been presented in international nutrition science publications.
Usage properties
Rikas Sunwic Dietary Fibre mixes easily into liquid. Completely tasteless, odourless and colourless, the fibre is pleasant to use and is also palatable for children. The best thing about the product is that it does not gel even over a longer period of time or when mixed into warm liquid.
